    Well done!

Don't want to burst any bubbles, but Amazon's rankings fluctuate madly. A single copy sold will see you leaping hundreds of thousands places up the ladder, and then slowly dropping down again in the following hours and days.

Not that I've studied this intensively, of course. It's just something I happen to know.

Oh Richard, if only you knew how many of my bubbles you just popped: every morning, I check out the cricket book's Amazon rankings (UK). Since July last year, we have been hovering somewhere between 600 and 2500. And we sit firmly lodged in the top three cricket books. Alas, alas, it's all a chimera.

But the awards the book has been shortlisted for are real, I tell myself. Hope to have good news to post soon!

That sounds pretty solid. I've never been up that high. My book is at #281,559 on Amazon.com right now, but I know it will back down around #800,000 come Monday. So maybe it's just me.

Wishing you lots of good news!

It does seem to fluctuate by the hour, actually. Let's hope the book stays up there for quite a while.

Any inside info on how their ranking system works?

I have no inside info, but it definitely looks like they factor in sales frequency as well as volume. Which is not a bad thing, of course, especially if it takes your book into the top 10 in several categories.
